Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise will have to adhere to strict Scientology guidelines surrounding the birth of their baby. Tom Cruise is a strict follower of cult religion Scientology, which doctrine states the mother isn't permitted to make any noise during the delivery and she is not allowed any drugs to help her through giving birth. This absurdity is based on the notion that any noise made during its emergence will scare and scar the child for life.
Tom's sister and spokeswoman, Lee Anne Devette, announced: "Tom and Katie are very excited, and the entire family is thrilled. But I can't say whether it's a girl or a boy." Devette even mentioned that Katie has been telling everyone she has "never felt better". This child will be Tom Cruise?s first biological child, as he already has two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes? first.
It is not known whether the couple are planning to marry before having their child. It was recently revealed Katie - who was once quoted as saying she would remain a virgin until she married - is set to take on Tom's surname when they wed.
