Charlize Theron, New Bond Girl?5 December 2005 Bond may have an Oscar winning sidekick this time around.
There are rumors that Monster star Charlize Theron will star as the female lead in the latest James Bond film Casino Royale. She will join a long list of actresses who have shared the screen with 007 in the film franchises long history. Theron would join the likes of Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher, Britt Ekland and Ursula Andress in this category.
This time around Bond fans will have a new hero to root for with Daniel Craig taking the role of the British secret agent, replacing Pierce Brosnan.
Although nothing has been signed, Theron as been reported as being Casino Royale director Martin Campbell's first choice for the role.
"She is glamorous but she is also a brilliant actress. It would be quite a coup to have an Oscar-winner as the female lead," explained Campbell.
