Simpson was performing on MTV Japan on Thursday and ended her show early saying that she felt sick. She collapsed in an elevator backstage moments after leaving the stage. Word has it that the pop singer was suffering from exhaustion, but nothing has been confirmed. Over the weekend Simpson?s father Joe said that his daughter was hooked up to an I.V.
Simpson made headlines last month with her drunken visit to a Toronto McDonalds were she insulted the staff and patrons of the fast food dinner.
The Simpson family is still waiting for word on what is wrong before they fly to Japan to visit Ashlee. The family is already working through Jessica?s recent divorce with Nick Lacey.
Some of Ashlee Simpson?s show in the upcoming week have been cancelled while she recovers.
