Woods will play Dr. Lennox, former professor of Dr. Abby Lockhart, played by Maura Tierney. James Wood?s character is diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig`s disease. The episode is about Wood?s character experiencing the advanced stages of the disease.
Wood?s took a different approach studying for the role. He spent time with six people living with ALS and heard their stories about living with the disease.
