Britney Spears Upsets Little People10 April 2006 Pop princess Britney Spears may see a slip in sales with her little people demographic because of a recent party. Britney Spears threw a birthday party for her husband Kevin Federline for his 28th birthday.
The guests at the party were entertained by two little people dressed as Sonny and Cher to sing I Got You Babe. She then got two little people to carry out the birthday cake. The crowd at the party enjoyed the performers so much that they wanted to have a dwarf-throwing contest. A lot of countries have put bans in their law about dwarf-tossing and it can carry jail time in some areas.
News of the party outraged advocate groups for little people including the Billy Barty Foundation. They have described the Spears party as wicked and cruel.
?It is wicked to hurl abuse at anyone of diminished height simply because they are small. We know dwarves and midgets who are immense in stature because of their talent.? explained a representative from the Billy Barty Foundation. "Mostly they are able to rise above any insults. But inevitably, feelings are hurt by nasty comments. There's only one word for it - bullying."
The Billy Barty Foundation is named after actor Billy Barty, he starred in films like Willow and Masters of the Universe.
